Portraits evoke strong emotions; it’s what makes them challenging for artists to render but it’s what gives them their charm, makes them appealing to view. With that in mind I paint realistic yet creative watercolor pet and animal portraits as well as people in timeless tones of graphite; all of which are noted for their detailed and captivating expressions.My close cropped style pushes the watercolor medium past traditional flowing methods by encompassing sweeping and dry brush techniques, helping to achieve a true likeness of my subject.
