Layla Messkoub

My work employs a variety of techniques includes traditional printmaking, drawing, and hand embroidery on paper. I completed my degree at Columbia University in New York where I first delved into various relief printmaking methods. My textured collages have evolved to incorporate ephemera from my travels around the world. In 2015 I travelled throughout Southeast Asia, Morocco, and France to collect handmade fibers, organic pigments, and inspiration. This journey informed my most recent body of work which is an exploration of the changing climate that informs so many aspects of our lives in south Louisiana and Texas.
