Eric Verret

I am a native Texan living in Austin and have always found myself drawn to places in nature that have little or no human influence. I have spent many years as a stone mason trying to bring a little bit of nature’s beauty back into our everyday lives. In the past couple of years I have put down my stone hammer and picked up ink and paper. I see color as emotion and light as a reflection of our struggle to be a part of nature. I try to capture the feelings I experience, rather than just the image itself.

I use markers on watercolor paper to create my original images. Pointillism is my favorite way of bringing my world to paper. I find the process rather relaxing and meditative. I also have signed limited edition Giclee prints that have been professionally printed on watercolor paper.

My most recent works reflect my passion for sea life and the ocean, and my love of Texas landscapes.
