Amy Bomar

Amy Bomar is an emerging young artist born and raised in Texas. Having spent most of her life in Fort Worth, she then joined the art program at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Tx. She graduated in May 2008 with a bachelor of fine arts in Advertising Graphic Design. Amy has had a love for art from childhood. Some of her earliest memories consist of her painting trees and tree branches, loving the way the branches flowed out of the paint brush. Her senior project in her advanced painting class at Sam was a 4’x12′ painting on wooden panels of the life cycle of a tree. Employing texture, collage and acrylic washes to get just the right look and feel, Amy found her love and passion in the simple, homey feel of her painting. Continuing with that same homey feel, Amy takes her love for nature and combines it with her love for other things, such as reading and music. Often she gives the paintings secret meaning by her choice of collage items, making each one special to her, putting a lot of heart into every single piece.Amy currently lives in Houston, Texas with her husband Ruben, and continues to paint a little bit of herself into every canvas she does.
