Rick Wyrick

I create structures that invite participation, they tell stories about my life.

The larger pieces are constructed using a steel rod armature and sheet steel. The sheet steel is cut with a torch, then shaped and formed on wooden blocks and an anvil. Once the form is finished it is welded to the armature. Most pieces are painted with enamel paint, however sometimes I use recycled steel that has been previously painted and let the existing colors dictate the final outcome.

I am the sole creator of each piece of structure. I do not employ studio assistants.
