Mark Lewanski

My woven glass surfaces are a striking enigma, a complex and beautiful mystery. They challenge the observer as they present a contradiction of material and technique. They are simultaneously soft as a delicate fabric and solid, vitreous and eternal. Metaphorically, glass weaving is the intersection of dreams, the impossible made possible. I am passionately driven to create the most intricate and largest woven glass surfaces in existence. They introduce a unique style, very different in contemporary art glass. My outdoor display is tall, sturdy, elegant and has the feel of a fine art gallery.
