Marilu Patterson

I have been asked many times to describe my style of jewelry design. I think it has been best started as “simple elegance.” Clean lines and geometric shapes work very well with the intrinsic qualities of the precious metal used in my designs. I use gold and silver in my work in such a way that it represents its true quality, fine reflective surfaces, crisp edges and sculptural harmony.

Art school exposed me to many styles and periods, but I was most influenced by the Art Deco Era. I am also influences by architectural design. Many of my designs are very structured and bold. As an individual, and artist, I take great pride in creating each piece with precision craftsmanship. I find great pleasure in combining precious metals with beautiful colored stones. Each piece has its own sense of balance, one of which represents my creative philosophy. I believe my work represents me as a person. Balance and simplicity are my daily influences.
