Kirk Miller

My philosophy as a glass artist has always been to think outside the box. Being self taught, and using my scientific background, has lent itself well to this process. I began my exploring with experimentation in creating texture, in a medium that is usually smooth. Experimenting with folding glass in ways that have not been done before. Lastly, I purposely choose to work in an understated color palette, with a matte finish, so that the viewer’s eyes can follow the subtle but complex textures, forms and folds within the glass.
