Judy Hudson

I am a self-taught mixed-media artist, High School Art Educator, and native Texan who embraces and celebrates change. The first half of my life was filled with music – playing piano, singing, directing – creating color and emotion with notes and rhythms. Then the sounds began to fade and melodies became more difficult to hear; I had to face the fact that being a musician was no longer a part of my future. However, I was lucky and very stubborn. Life is nothing without passion and in that search for meaning, I discovered a previously unknown talent that excites me even more than music! Color and texture make me happy and fill my paintings with joy. But, bottom line for me? Creating art MUST be fun; it must be satisfying; it must be fulfilling. Coming to visual arts so late in life means that I don’t have time to waste doing things that bore me. I seldom think about where the piece is going, I simply let my hands and imagination work together to make something beautiful.
