Greta Cannon

My style is inspired by contemporary designs integrated with ancient and ethnic cultures. I mainly use sterling silver, 18k gold, black rhodium plating, and rare precious gemstones. I begin with metal sheets and wires and then I use a variety of techniques such as cutting, soldering, sawing, and forging to create the basic forms of each jewelry piece. I add texture using hammers, stamps, and punches and I clean up and refine my jewelry using sanding and filing. I finally bezel set hand cut stones and give it a final polish. I love incorporating unusual gemstones either raw or faceted with the contrasting dark metals in each piece. I make comfortable pieces that are truly one of a kind and made to last.
