My paintings are produced from observations in the field but composed in my studio. I paint a sky and body underlayment first and in some cases allow this to dry before painting color, highlight, and detail. Stylistically my work is in the tradition of the Tonalist/Realists movement of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
