My work explores the beauty of scarce and deserted environments by examining and abstracting the lively color and forms found in unexpected places. I find the intricacies, unrivaled colors and organic forms found in nature’s most private and hidden spaces astounding. Exploring the terrain of West Texas and Big Bend, I have grown fascinated with the landscapes of the mostly untouched, desert environment. My most recent collection of paintings depict my memories and experiences with the region while seeking to capture its beauty and allure. I am particularly enchanted by the vivid colors and ever-changing natural light of the desert. The subject matter of my work varies from plant life, to geological forms, to panoramic views. Working in a painterly impressionistic style and using sophisticated color schemes allow me to reflect a modern take on the region’s character and culture in each of my paintings.
