Finding compelling compositions is the fun part of photography, but that is just the first step. Creating a cohesive body of work that makes sense, and elicits the emotional reactions we intend is not so straightforward. About 7 years ago we embarked on a journey to create a body of work that is based more on compelling composition, printing techniques, and traditional presentation than digital manipulations. We decided on a particular style of alternative process monochromatic capture and developed a unique protocol of printing and presentation. This style results in prints we create that are softly toned on textured fine art papers that we hand deckle and float mount within 8 ply matt boards. Dark mahogany burl frames and Water white anti-reflective glazing finish off our presentation. My wife and I exclusively produce every step in the creative and finishing process. In addition to framed single images, we present triptychs that follow themes of subject matter or style (not single images broken into three panels).
