These pieces began as a series about the cages we build that do not actually hold a job, marriage, place. They contain stones, found objects, wood, and steel cable; natural elements in juxtaposition with man-made elements. Color and texture in the painting may emphasize one or the other, or the tension between the two. They elicit so many emotions that they have taken on a life of their own.
