Fritz Olsen

I have been working with stone for 30 years. The mystique, timelessness and durability of stone captured my heart and still keep me carving most every day. I develop my ideas on paper then carve directly from those drawings, sometimes resolving details as I move through the block. My work has focused on the figure and the abstract. I tend to transpose elements from one to the other. The addition of steels, bronze and wood has allowed me to practice other skill sets and explore new directions in my work.
