I am a self-taught artist currently residing in Seattle, Washington. Originally from Alabama, travels have taken me throughout North and Central America and Europe.
Images from my life experiences and childhood are loosely represented in my paintings.
My work can be seen as either light-hearted, thought-provoking, or both simultaneously.
Elements for my paintings include several layers of acrylic paint, vinyl composite, oil stick, and a matte, protective polymer on canvas or wood.
In my current body of work, I have created subjects possessing both human and animal characteristics. Inspiration for these works come from such disparate sources as Henry Darger and Crayola® crayons.
I am equally inspired by the stark lonliness of rural landscapes, the animals that inhabit them, and menacing weather phenomena.
